As the summer spins past at breakneck speed, and students on traditional school schedules anticipate the upcoming year, a taste of the distant future -- vicariously, with the Time Warp Trio -- may be refreshing.
Yes, the Time Warp Trio -- Joe, Sam and Fred -- has returned, or perhaps more accurately moved on, to 2095 (Viking, 11.99, ages 7 to 11).
The humorously astute characters concocted by Jon Scieszka (who points out for the umpteenth time that that's shee-ska) and given their visual identities by Lane Smith, decide the future is the appropriate destiny for this adventure. After all, Fred points out, in 100 years the trio will be dead and so can avoid getting into trouble by running into themselves.
