A controversial videotape of Utah prison officials removing inmate Michael Valent from his cell and placing him in a restraining chair aired on a national news show Tuesday and Wednesday.
Valent, a 29-year-old schizophrenic, was held in the chair for 16 hours and collapsed and died shortly after his release. Blood clots attributed to immobility traveled to his lungs and caused a fatal pulmonary embolism.
