From the neighborhood to the neighborhood. This Santa Claus does not come from the North Pole, but from La Merced and his intention is to bring joy and hope to his "compas" in Tepito, especially to the merchant children at this time of year that already smells like Christmas.

He is Santa Claus Illuminated, who this Saturday visited the barrio bravo of Tepito so that the merchants could have a few minutes of distraction from their routine.
"It's to distract them from their work, especially to bring him closer to the merchant children who don't have the opportunity to at least go to the Zócalo and have their picture taken," says cosplayer Miguel Moctezuma, who put aside his life as a merchant in La Merced to become one of the favorite characters of the Christmas season.
It takes Miguel about an hour to put on the Santa Claus Illuminated cape, which weighs approximately 30 kilos and is a creation of his wife Yavé, who studied Fashion Design.
