Bengaluru: Garbage burning has become widespread in Bengaluru and smouldering waste occasionally bursting into flames is a common sight in several places, notwithstanding the blanket ban imposed by the government in 2017.
Residents of Poornaprajna Layout, AGS Layout, Ittamadu off Uttarahalli Main Road, Kakthiyanagar, Basavanagudi, Chamarajpet and others areas of south Bengaluru say their several representations to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to stop garbage burning in their localities have fallen on deaf ears.
