ABSTRACT
In the study, the impact of the wine industry on the economy was investigated. In this regard, the wine industry, the impact of climate change on the wine industry and consumer behaviour in the wine industry are discussed. The study is a qualitative research and the literature review method was used. The study found that the wine industry is a vital source of employment, income and innovation and supports regional development and public services.

ÖZ
Çalışmada şarap endüstrisinin ekonomi üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu baǧlamda şarap endüstrisi, iklim deǧişikliǧinin şarap endüstrisi üzerindeki etkisi ve şarap endüstrisindeki tüketici davranışları ele alınmıştır. Çalışma nitel bir araştırmadır ve literatür taraması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma, şarap endüstrisinin hayati bir istihdam, gelir ve yenilik kaynaǧı olduǧunu ve bölgesel kalkınma ve kamu hizmetlerini desteklediǧini ortaya koymuştur.

INTRODUCTION
The wine industry has a long history, dating back thousands of years, and is an integral part of many cultures worldwide. The industry encompasses a wide range of activities, including grape cultivation, wine production, distribution, and sales. Wine is a luxury product, enjoyed by millions of people globally, making the industry a significant contributor to the global economy.
The wine industry's impact on the economy is substantial, generating significant revenue and employment opportunities. According to a study by Deloitte (2017), the wine industry contributes $219.9 billion to the US economy, supporting over 1.7 million jobs. Similarly, a report by Wine Australia (2018) revealed that the wine industry contributed AUD 45.5 billion to the Australian economy in 2015-16, supporting 163,790 jobs. The industry's impact on employment extends beyond the wine production and distribution sector, with related industries such as tourism, hospitality, and transportation also benefiting from the industry's growth.
The wine industry's impact is not limited to developed countries, with the industry playing a crucial role in developing countries' economies. For instance, the wine industry in South Africa supports over 290,000 jobs and contributes 2.2% to the country's GDP (Wines of South Africa, 2021). The industry also plays a crucial role in developing rural areas, with many wine-producing regions in developing countries relying on the industry as a source of income and employment.
