The history of Hacienda de la Luz
Hacienda de la Luz was built in the 17th century as an inn within the hundreds of acres of land it occupies. Its architecture is a fusion between the Mexican colonial style and the style of Navarra (northern Spain), with red tile roofs, some white facades and sober and elegant interiors.
It was so named because of its chapel dedicated to the Virgen de la Luz, and is located at 2,800 meters above sea level on the slopes of Cerro de la Bandera, very close to the towns of Tapaxco, Santa Rita and Yomejé.
