Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish a descriptive guide for postsecondary administrators to facilitate institutional compliance with legal and ethical requirements and educational needs of college students with learning disabilities.

The sample for this study was a panel of 15 experts in the field of postsecondary learning disabilities and a panel of 30 practitioners in public four-year institutions involved with delivery of service to learning disabled college students.

The sample population was mailed a survey and cover letter. The survey was created as a result of an exhaustive review of the literature identifying program components which occurred at least three times. Useable responses were received from 87% of the experts and 83% of the practitioners. No significant differences occurred between the mean responses of the two groups. Discussion of each response to the survey is entailed in the Chapter 6 guide.
