Our object in this thesis is the solvability of nonlinear equations of the type $x + Tx = f$. Our results are shown via application of approximation techniques and involve operators T of dissipative or local strictly pseudo-contractive type. The operators T have domains and ranges in Banach spaces.
Results of Bruck, Chidume, Dunn, Maruster and other authors are extended and generalized.
