The Planned Adoption Program provides adopting parents with a comprehensive approach to assist them in planning their adoption process and assess the on going changes and the needs of the community. It provides a comprehensive approach to the adopting parents and includes all of the factors involved in a planned adoption, including caring for infants, concepts of identity and security, social policy and access to birth in legal issues, factors and psychological issues associated with the adoption, biological factors that can affect the adoptee. Background variables of both the child and the parents, temperament and personality development of the child, genetic theory, parent and child background factors, ongoing intervention policy and process are also assessed. The major emphasis is on the concerns and complaints of the adopting parents and individuals surrendering the child. It provides a concentrated effort to determine the backbone of the adoption process, including family planning, support services and a full range of psychological and medical services to benefit the mothers that surrender the children, the children, and all those who consider adoption throughout the State of Florida.
