Abstract
This study examined the influences of Type A behavior pattern (TABP), the Achievement Strivings (AS), and Impatience-Irritability (II) dimensions of TABP and locus of control on interpersonal conflict handling styles. The data were from 101 undergraduate students. All interactions were nonsignificant, suggesting that locus of control does not moderate the relationship between TABP, AS, II, and interpersonal conflict handling style. Several significant relationships were found between TABP, AS, II, and interpersonal conflict handling styles. Specifically, AS was related to the integrating and avoiding conflict resolving strategies, and II was related to the dominating strategy. Thus, support was shown for previous research, suggesting that TABP is a multidimensional construct.
