Etude moléculaire du champignon phytopathogène Inonotus tomentosus
Abstract (summary)
This thesis report represents a portion of our studies on the phytopathogenic fungus Inonotus tomentosus. In the first part of our study we focus on the phylogenic relationships within the genus Inonotus . The study reveals taxinomic differences between species infecting different hosts and identifies important phylogenetic differences observed between species infecting deciduous trees versus coniferous trees. Sequencing data generated by this project were then used to design primers specific to I. tomentosus. In the second part of our study, we used molecular markers from coding genes to study the population structure of I. tomentosus in a white spruce stand located northwest of Montreal. This study, which was based on the use of two mitochondrial markers and one nuclear marker, suggested that the spread of I. tomentosus within the plantation was mostly clonal.
