The Free the Youth cofounder leads a new generation of creatives at the forefront of Ghana's streetwear scene
Jonathan "Joey Lit" Coffie has cultivated a space for Ghana's up-and-coming forces of fashion, alongside Richard "Kweku Maposh" Ormano, Kelly "Kurlz" Sekfafor Foli and the late Winfred"Shace"Mensah. They've become a hub for founders whose enterprises are making a cultural impact on American industries, even as they encourage African youth to make their style presence known. We met with Joey Lit to discuss Ghana's signature streetwear, his newfound women consumer base and his work with Virgil Abloh.
