Abstract

Cette étude porte sur l'adaptation et l'intégration des étudiants étrangers dans le contexte de l'Université Laval et de la politique d'immigration propre au Canada et au Québec.

Les objectifs sont de décrire et d'expliquer la situation d'adaptation et d'intégration des étudiants rencontrés. L'étude s'attarde sur l'intégration, sous trois aspects: à la vie scolaire, à un réseau de pairs et à la société québécoise. La recherche tente de découvrir la perception qu'ont les étudiants étrangers de leur propre situation, de l'institution d'enseignement et de la société québécoise.

La recherche montre qu'ils sont, en général, bien adaptés et intégrés quoique certaines zones laissent entrevoir des questionnements quant à la profondeur ou la marginalité de cette adaptation et intégration.

Cette étude décrit la situation des étudiants étrangers à l'Université Laval, soulève des questionnements et ouvre la porte à d'éventuelles recherches dans le domaine.
