Abstract

Minneapolis based Theatre de la Jeune Lune creates performances by adhering to their mission to pit “the old with the new.” The French and American artists established their identity as a company based on the teachings of Jacques Lecoq who emphasized organic and technical actor-based creation. Their adaptable, idiosyncratic performance space, collective work environment and pragmatic philosophy has helped sustain their non-tradition approach to theater production for the last twenty five years. Throughout those years, the company has adapted their methods of company collaboration to create original scripts and adapt classical works which vary in style from cabaret to opera.
