Elayne Boosler didn't make a living telling jokes, she'd be a sports announcer doing color commentary for the New York Mets. Once again, if she didn't already tell jokes for a living.
"I adore baseball," she says during a recent phone call from Los Ange les. She splits her time between there and New York.
"I'm a huge Mets fan," she continues, "which means I have to live vicariously through teams like yours. I got to throw out a pitch at an Indians game this year. I was doing a concert in Cleveland and they said I could come three days early to throw out a pitch. I wondered if I was that big a baseball fan to go to Cleveland three days early, but yes, I am."
