Abstract

The current study was designed to add to the existing literature by providing evidence as to the relationship between applicant interview performance and awareness of the test process and competencies assessed. Further, the effect of applicant type on said relationship was examined. One hundred applicants for classified employment positions within an urban school district completed two survey measures and a demographic questionnaire. Statistical analysis demonstrated a positive relationship between the applicant test process awareness factor of structure and interview performance. As the current study represents an initial investigation of the possible effects of awareness of test process and competency manipulation on interview performance, additional research is warranted.
