Abstract
The church is a community which receives God's calling. God has called us to become a community of love, with love from God in heaven, and love for our neighbors on earth (Matthew 22:37--40).
Jesus tells us to become the salt and the light of the world (Matthew 5:13--16). However, today's church must confess how much they lack of becoming the salt and the light of the world. The reality of this world is that the smallest problem the church has with the world, the church becomes the center of all the blames.
The Bible tells us that, the secret of the growth of the first church was how the congregation tried to gather everyday at the church. And the church was praised everyday by the people, and God daily added people to the church (Acts 2:46--47). On the contrary, the congregation of today does not try to gather in the church, and the church has not done a single thing which deserves to be praised. Do-gu First Church decided to love; and serve our providence concretely and become the church which is praised by the people of the providence. In our providence, there are many homeless seniors, and students from the poor households. Accordingly, a college for the seniors was established to carry out the love, and the services to the seniors of the community. Currently, scholarship, and meal expenses are given to the needy teenagers.
Therefore, it became a church which is praised by the neighborhood, and it became fit for the purposes which God had when He created the church. As the church became active, and began these services, more people got saved everyday.
