Abstract

This thesis is a presentation of the concept which constitutes the basis for a full facility computer terminal system. A full facility terminal is one that is connected on-line to a central processing unit, and at which a user has at his disposal many different powerful computing options.

Although the literature is noticeably sparse on this subject, various types of computer terminal systems already do exist. Few of these systems terminals however, have available to them all of the capabilities that would be... necessary for their consideration as full facility terminals.

The full facility computer terminal system developed here varies in several important aspects from the currently available systems. This thesis outlines the framework of the available terminal systems and contrasts them to the one developed. Also included are appendices which contain guides for the programs available to the terminal users of this system.
