Contaminación electromagnética por dispositivos de comunicación inalámbrica y sus efectos en la salud.

Abstract

Con la llegada de la tecnología 5G a Ecuador y los múltiples dispositivos que se comunican mediante redes wifi, el despliegue de este sin cables ha ganado un gran espacio, generando un electro polución y avivando la preocupación por los efectos que este campo electromagnético tiene en la salud pública. Esto motivó a hacer una revisión minuciosa de los resultados de estudios en el área médica y tecnológica para comprender y determinar la posibilidad de que las ondas puedan ser causantes de enfermedades graves como el cáncer, afectaciones en la fertilidad y el ADN, entre otros. Aún sin contar con resultados contundentes sobre la relación con alguna de estas enfermedades, es claro que una exposición prolongada tiene afectaciones a la salud y es necesario tomar algunas medidas de prevención.

With the arrival of 5G technology in Ecuador and the multiple devices that communicate by Wi-Fi networks, the deployment of this without wire has gained a lot of space, generating an electro-pollution and fueling concern about the effects this electromagnetic field has on public health. This prompted a thorough review of the results of studies in the medical and technological area to understand and determine the possibility that the waves could be causing serious diseases such as cancer, affectations in fertility and DNA, among others. Even without conclusive results about the relationship with any of these diseases, it is clear that prolonged exposure has health effects and it is necessary to take some preventive measures.
