SPRINGFIELD - The Paul Schweikher House and Studio in Schaumburg is one of the 10 most endangered historic sites in the state, and efforts should be made to save it, the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois said Wednesday.
"When a historic property is lost, the damage is permanent," council president David Keene said. "We hope by announcing the top 10 list, preservation solutions can be found for these threatened sites."
The Schweikher House is one of the few suburban sites on the council's 1998 endangered list, which also includes the entire village of Hinsdale and the Wagner family farm in Glenview.
