National Hispanici Heritage Month
September 15 to October 15
Celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Amerivans whose ancestors come from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. One way to celebrate is to learn about Hispanic art. Colorful wall paintings, like the one pictured here, are part of a movement called Muralism that started in Mexico around 100 years ago. Many Hispanic neighborhoods feature murals that represent the community. This mural in Houston, Texas, is called A United Community.
