The village of Schaumburg owns the only home in the village on the national register of historic places.
Now, what to do with architecturally unique Schweikher House on south Meacham Road must be decided.
The village purchased the home and two surrounding acres from the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago last week.
The district at one time considered demolishing the residence built by architect Paul Schweikher, a protege of Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Rohe.
