Toponímia històrica de la Vallbona: Els noms de lloc de l’antic terme de Benaguasil

Abstract

Aquesta tesi és un recull de toponímia històrica de la Vallbona. S'han fixat un límits espacials que corresponen als actuals municipis de Benaguasil, la Pobla de Vallbona, l'Eliana i Sant Antoni de Benaixeve, els quals formaven en el passat l'antic terme castral de Benaguasil. També hi ha uns límits temporals, ja que s'ha marcat la data del 1930 com a punt final de la recerca.Al llarg del treball s'ha construït un corpus toponímic format pels genèrics, els topònims majors dels municipis de la Vallbona, així com els de tots els municipis que hi confronten i els noms d'agrupacions municipals relacionades amb la Vallbona. Un altre apartat està format pels topònims urbans de cada nucli habitat i, finalment, hi ha el corpus de toponímia rural. Cada topònim té una fitxa on consten les dades bàsiques, les fonts documentals, cartogràfiques i orals d'on s'ha extret el topònim, uns comentaris sobre la geografia i la història de cada lloc i, finalment, un comentari lingüístic amb les hipòtesis sobre la etiologia i la etimologia del nom. També s'ha exposat la classificació i composició de cada topònim.El treball va precedit d'unes dades generals de geografia, història i llengua de la zona, especialment encaminades a explicar la varietat i les denominacions toponímiques que s'hi han produït al llarg dels segles. Les conclusions recullen els aspectes més generals que han sorgit al llarg del treball, com ara la pervivència d'alguns llatinismes, l'evolució dels arabismes, la importància dels antropònims i l'existència d'uns referents totalment desapareguts que ara podem conéixer, de nou, gràcies a la investigació toponímica.

This thesis is a compilation of historical toponymy of La Vallbona. A spatial boundary has been set that corresponds to the current municipalities of Benaguasil, La Pobla de Vallbona, L'Eliana and Sant Antoni de Benaixeve, which in the past formed the old territory of Benaguasil Castle. There are also time limits, as the date 1930 has been marked as the end point of the research. Throughout the work, a toponymic corpus has been constructed, formed by the generics, the major toponyms of the municipalities of La Vallbona, as well as those of all the municipalities that confront them and the names of municipal groups related to La Vallbona. Another section is formed by the urban toponyms of each inhabited nucleus and, finally, there is the corpus of rural toponymy. Each toponym has a file containing the basic data, the documentary, cartographic and oral sources from which the toponym has been extracted, some comments on the geography and history of each place and, finally, a linguistic commentary with the hypotheses about the etiology and etymology of the name. The classification and composition of each toponym has also been exposed. The work is preceded by general data on geography, history and language of the area, especially aimed at explaining the variety and toponymic names that have occurred over the centuries. The conclusions gather the most general aspects that have emerged throughout the work, such as the survival of some Latinisms, the evolution of Arabisms, the importance of anthroponyms and the existence of some disappeared places that we can now know, again, thanks to toponymic research.
