Inspired by José Guadalupe Posadas' "La Catrina", thousands of participants, disguised as catrines and catrines, will walk through the main streets of Mexico City, accompanied by music, floats, allegorical and other representative elements of this great Mexican tradition, during the Eleventh Edition of the Mega Procession of the Catrinas, a fair of color, magic, mysticism and celebration of death, which will take place this Sunday, October 27th.
The procession, which will bring together some 15 thousand participants, grouped into 37 thematic contingents, including classic catrinas, and even figures inspired by pop culture, such as Star Wars and cosplays.
This year the Megaprocession will also be a showcase to make visible the more than 116 thousand missing and unlocated persons in the country, with the participation of the contingent of women searchers grouped in the Colectivo Familias Unidas (United Families Collective).
