Direitos Humanos e Migrantes no Pensamento Político-Internacional de Javier de Lucas

Abstract

A presente dissertação discute o desafio migratório e de refugiados como fenómeno global, evidenciando a resposta dada pela União Europeia, à luz do pensamento político internacional de Javier de Lucas. Aborda as violações dos direitos humanos que os indivíduos enfrentam durante o processo migratório, como detenção, injusta, exploração e discriminação. A pesquisa examina os deveres legais e éticos da União Europeia em relação aos direitos dos migrantes e propõe recomendações para garantir a proteção adequada desses direitos. Desta forma, analisa-se a relação entre os direitos humanos e a questão da migração com observação da atuação da Europa nesse contexto tendo como base e referência a perspetiva de Javier de Lucas, autor contemporâneo e ativista dos direitos humanos. A dissertação enfatiza a necessidade de uma ação mais coerente e responsável por parte da Europa no que concerne aos direitos humanos dos migrantes e Javier de Lucas propõe que a abordagem da migração seja assente na solidariedade, respeito aos direitos humanos e na procura por soluções equitativas e sustentáveis para a situação dos migrantes. Destaca-se a importância de uma resposta universal direcionada para esse desafio, para que se possa garantir a dignidade e os direitos de todos os indivíduos.

This dissertation discusses the migratory and refugee challenge as a global phenomenon, analyzing the challenges and obstacles these people face when trying to achieve better living conditions, and highlighting the response given by the European Union, in the light of Javier de Lucas' international-political thinking. It addresses the human rights violations that individuals face during the migration process, such as detention, unfairness, exploitation, and discrimination. The research examines the European Union's legal and ethical duties in relation to the rights of migrants and proposes recommendations to ensure the adequate protection of these rights. In this way, the relationship between human rights and the issue of migration is analysed, with an observation of Europe's actions in this context, based on the perspective of Javier de Lucas, a contemporary author and human rights activist. The dissertation emphasizes the need for more coherent and responsible action on the part of Europe regarding the human rights of migrants and Javier de Lucas proposes that the approach to migration should be based on solidarity, respect for human rights and the search for equitable and sustainable solutions to the situation of migrants. The importance of a universal response to this challenge is highlighted, so that the dignity and rights of all individuals can be guaranteed.
