Abstract

The core scenario is that IT market growth in Indonesia will accelerate in 2025 in US dollar terms because of the tailwind of rupiah appreciation against the USD, before moving to a slower trajectory for 2026-2028. However, IT market growth will continue to outpace GDP as levels of digital intensity rise as the Indonesian economy develops and modernises. The flow of investments to establish digital infrastructure and develop services during 2024 and into 2025 is a positive foundation for this process to unfold over the medium and long term. There is also upside potential if advances in AI-enabled software development and integration processes accelerate digital transformation by increasing the capacity and lower costs for digital projects.
