Byron Villamar defied the limitations of his environment to build a brilliant career. He dreamed of doing makeup at the most important beauty pageant in the world, the Miss Universe, and he achieved it.
He not only accomplished this goal but something better. Destiny placed in her sacred hands Victoria Kjaer, the Danish candidate who won the pageant.
The story of this talented Ecuadorian begins in Guayaquil, the city where he was born, but continues in the Balzar canton where he grew up.
He played with skateboards, Nintendo and hung out with his friends, he says. He combined his entrepreneurial spirit with his creativity.
He is happy to remember shining people's shoes and selling foam and carnival powder in February to generate income. He was expensive, he recalls, but did well when the competition ran out of stock.
