The IT market is expected to accelerate in local currency and US dollar terms in 2025, and record a strong growth trend throughout the medium-term forecast period to 2028. There is momentum for digital transformation in Malaysia's public and private sector, as well as positive supply-side trends with the development of a competitive public cloud and AI ecosystem. There is also a positive trend around data centre investments near the border with Singapore, with several large scale data centre campus projects underway in 2025 to meet demand created by constraints on data centre builds in Singapore. There are downside economic risks, but the strategic value of IT investments mean that the outlook is relatively resilient to most downside scenarios.
