BRUCE Davidson and Mike Antunovic are following their late colleague Mike Bungay into the annals of New Zealand legal history.Both Davidson and co-counsel Antunovic often "juniored" for the colourful Wellington defence lawyer.
Neither is as colourful, but both have the advantage of less mercurial temperament.
Davidson and Antunovic are both family men in their mid-40s, with solid practices specialising in criminal defence work.
Davidson is a partner in Bungay's old firm, now Greig, Davidson and Gallagher.
Antunovic practises by himself as a barrister and solicitor and for several years was in former Labour Cabinet Minister Bill Jeffries' old firm. He sublets a city office from Greig, Davidson and Gallagher, but often works from his home just north of Wellington.
Both have done high-profile trials before, but the Watson case is the biggest in scale and media attention.
