IT barely looks any different than it did when it closed its doors in 1994.
Dustier and a little woebegone perhaps - but that's understandable when eight years on the old Lion Tavern in trendy Thorndon remains empty.
The plans for it had been relatively grand. The Molesworth St building was bought by the Royal Thai Embassy for $3.6 million.
It had planned to spend that much again setting up a new Embassy with refurbishment to start early 1997.
That never happened but the Asian crisis did.
The embassy won't comment on...
