La creación de un mito: Putellas como estrella del fútbol femenino en Alexia, labor omnia vincit (2022)

Abstract

En la actualidad, los documentales sobre celebridades del deporte como protagonistas se han consolidado como formato en las plataformas VOD, siendo el fútbol en España, el de mayor producción. La miniserie Alexia, Labor Omnia Vincit (Amazon Prime Video, 2022), sobre la jugadora del F.C. Barcelona Alexia Putellas como heroína del fútbol femenino tras ganar el Balón de Oro 2021 y 2022, premio FIFA The Best, el Globe Soccer Awards y Mejor jugadora del año por la UEFA en dos ediciones consecutivas. Desde una perspectiva de género, este artículo analiza este documental sobre la figura de Putellas a partir de la idea del estrellato futbolístico como mitología contemporánea, concluyendo que su dimensión transnacional es sintomática de la cultura globalizada.

The format of documentaries about sports celebrities as protagonists has become consolidated on VOD platforms. In Spain, the highest production of such documentaries can be observed, with soccer being the most prominent sport featured. The miniseries Alexia, Labor Omnia Vincit (Amazon Prime Video, 2022) profiles the F.C. Barcelona player Alexia Putellas as a heroine of women's soccer. It details her achievements, including winning the Ballon d'Or in 2021 and 2022, the FIFA The Best award, the Globe Soccer Awards, and Best Player of the Year by UEFA in two consecutive editions. From a gender perspective, this article analyses the documentary on the figure of Putellas from the perspective of soccer stardom as a contemporary mythology. It concludes that her transnational dimension is symptomatic of globalised culture.
