HIGH-END notebook users will be spoiled for choice as a flood of speedy Pentium II-based models begins hitting the market.
Pentium II chips are found in desktop personal computers but are only just appearing in laptops.
Compaq, Dell and Toshiba previewed their new Pentium II notebooks to the media last week, with Dell and Toshiba releasing models based on both the 233MHz and 266MHz versions of the chip, while Compaq has gone for the 266MHz model only.
Compaq has added the Pentium II-based models to its Armada line, while Toshiba added models to both its Satellite Pro business professional range and its Tecra performance notebook range.
Dell's offerings remain under wraps till tomorrow.
