Abstract

Muon acceleration using a radio-frequency accelerator was recently demonstrated for the first time. Measurement of the muon anomalous magnetic moment and electric dipole moment at the Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex is the first experiment using accelerated muon beams, and construction will begin soon. The radio-frequency accelerator used in the experiment and the first muon acceleration are described. subject Index
