The 2024 Canadian Electrical Code-Part1 available
The newest CE Code-Part I Safety standard for electrical installations (C22.1:24) is available for purchase. Some of the major changes and updates include:
* Refining and clarifying requirements for energy storage and renewable energy systems
* Clarification of electric vehicle energy management system requirements
* Revisions aimed at increasing electrical safety at healthcare facilities
* New rules that increase safety around swimming pools, hot tubs, and spas
* New requirements to increase safety for electrical system maintenance personnel
Prices start at $190.00 for physical or PDF versions of the code.
ABB $16-million expansion underway to meet demand
ABB broke ground on a $16-million expansion for the Installation Products Division's manufacturing facility in Pointe-Claire, Que., to "meet the growing needs of customers from coast to coast.
The expansion-which will double the production of plastic injection-moulded solutions-will create over 40 full-time jobs in the upgraded 65,000-sf facility, delivering legacy Canadian brands such as Marrette wire connectors, the NuTek series of non-metallic thermoplastic boxes, and Snap-it plastic fittings.
The additional team members will enable the site to operate multiple product lines and shifts to meet increasing demand for safe, smart and sustainable electrical solutions across industrial, commercial and residential applications, said Alain Quintal, VP and GM, ABB Installation Products Division in Canada.
The site also produces Carlon PVC products and other components used in a range of product lines.

$165,000 in EFC Scholarship Program
