Objective: The objective of this study was to map the furniture industries located along the Rio dos Sinos Basin. Theoretical Framework: The furniture industry is essential to the global economy, standing out in Brazil and the state as a highly relevant economic activity. The Rio dos Sinos Basin, encompassing 32 municipalities, plays a crucial role in water supply and ecosystem maintenance but faces serious pollution issues due to industrial, urban, and agricultural activities. Method: The research mapped 83 industries in the region, highlighting the absence of consolidated databases and using tools such as ArcGIS and Google Earth. Results and Discussion: The results indicate a significant concentration of industries in the southwestern portion of the basin, where proximity to water resources and infrastructure favors the establishment of these companies. Industrial waste, such as chemical effluents, solvents, and wood scraps, are potential environmental contaminants, requiring effective treatment systems and sustainable practices, such as the use of certified materials and eco-efficient technologies. The study concludes that integrated environmental management actions and public policies are essential to mitigate impacts and promote the basin's sustainability. Research Implications: The practical and theoretical implications of this research are discussed, providing insights into how the results can be applied or influence practices in the field of environmental quality. These implications may include environmental and water pollution, watershed management, and industrial waste treatment. Originality/Value: This study represents a significant contribution to the literature, as there are no previous records of industrial mapping in the analyzed region. Its relevance and value are demonstrated by its potential to serve as a reference for future investigations, in addition to providing essential support for monitoring water pollution and promoting environmental sustainability. Moreover, its economic and social importance is highlighted, considering that the furniture industry plays a fundamental role in the local economy, directly influencing regional development and environmental management.
