Abstract

Functional balance and qualitative gait evaluation were assessed using the Brunel Balance Assessment (BBA) and the Wisconsin Gait Scale (WGS), respectively. [...]a quantitative gait evaluation was performed using a 2D video graphic analysis using Kinovea software. The video was recorded using a GoPro Hero5 HD camera (resolution of 4000×3000 pixels and a frame rate of 60 frames/second), mounted on a tripod with a spirit level, and kept at the midpoint of the walkway at a 4-m perpendicular distance with height corresponding to patient’s hip. The angles of hip flexion, knee flexion, ankle dorsiflexion, and the time taken to complete a walking distance of 5 meters were calculated based on the recorded video using a freeware motion analysis software, Kinovea (Version 0.8.15).
