Abstract

Starting from the concept of the body of Mary Douglas and the notions of seduction of Jean Baudrillard and George Bataille, the seduction is observed through female feet in the oil painting Les hasards heureux de I'escarpolette by Jean-Honore Fragonard and in the work Jin PingMei. Subsequently, through a statistical analysis of the episodes linked to the feet in the erotic work, the seduction strategies used by this sign and its derivatives are revealed. [...]the study aims to contribute to the development of the semiotics dimension of seduction. The physical experience of the body, always modified by the social categories through which it is known, sustains a particular view of society. Es más, los pies y los zapatos femeninos no pueden considerarse meros componentes del cuerpo físico y del vestuario, sino como elementos del encuentro entre lo natural y lo artificial, así como entre lo social y lo ritual.
