Information popover about translation disclaimer

This research paper addresses, from a plural and critical perspective, eroticism in the poetry of Cristina Peri-Rossi (1941, Uruguay) and Guadalupe Amor (1918-2000, Mexico), highlighting their transgressive capacity and their challenge to literary, cultural, and social norms. Based on the theoretical thinking of French philosopher Georges Bataille and Russian writer and psychoanalyst Lou Andrea Salome, this paper delves into and questions the usual way of thinking about eroticism. It also incorporates the theories of French historian Michel Foucault on sexuality, power, and subjectivity to problematize how these writers redefine discourses on desire from a feminine and personal perspective. To this end, the lives and works of these writers are revealed, and the article concludes with an analysis of the representation of eroticism in the poetic works of both authors. Based on the aforementioned theoretical premises, this research work provides a reflective understanding of eroticism in Latin American literature written by women.
