In order to address the significant springback issue associated with high-strength steels following the forming process, the Yoshida-Uemori material hardening model is employed to simulate sheet metal forming and subsequent springback. However, in order to obtain the parameters of the model, a complex cyclic tensile-compression test is required. In order to mitigate the effects of buckling during cyclic tension-compression testing, a new fixture has been developed specifically for the cyclic tensile-compression tests of metal materials. Using this fixture, a large strain cyclic tensile-compression loading test was successfully conducted on a DP980 high-strength steel plate, yielding the cyclic stress-strain curve of the plate. This curve provides valuable experimental data for determining the parameters of the Yoshida-Uemori material model for DP980 high-strength steel.
