EMMA BUNTON Free Me (19 Recordings)
PICK OF THE WEEK
BACK under the influence of former Spice svengali Simon Fuller, Bunton turns back the clock for a swinging 60s-styled set that's far better than anyone could have imagined. Easy listening Latin rhythms and muted trumpets abound and there's more than a hint of Bacharach on songs like I'll Be There and No Sign Of Life. Maybe boasts jazz- tinged swing vocals and Crickets Sing For Anamaria shamelessly does the bossa nova. Some of these tracks could be in a Bond movie as Baby Spice turns Petula Clark.
