This study explores the application of the task-based teaching method in English education, particularly from the perspective of big data. Traditional English teaching models often fail to meet the diverse needs of students, with the task-based approach, despite being student-centered, encountering challenges such as task difficulty control and the lack of timely feedback. Big data technologies, through comprehensive data collection and analysis, offer new possibilities for enhancing task-based teaching. This can be achieved through precise task design, real-time teaching monitoring, and multi-dimensional feedback evaluation. Empirical comparative analysis indicates that the experimental class adopting the task-based teaching method, supported by big data, shows significant improvements in oral fluency and student engagement, highlighting the potential of big data in optimizing task-based teaching.
