COLIN Edwards snatched pole position from Yamaha team-mate Valentino Rossi in the final seconds of a dramatic British Grand Prix final qualifying session at Donington Park.
The American, lying 10th in the overall rankings, raced home 0.146 seconds ahead of Rossi with Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa third to make up the front row for today's race.
But Edwards then joined in criticism of the track after Britain's Bradley Smith had declared himself fully fit following a crash scare in qualifying for the Nickel & Dime 125cc British Grand Prix.
"You need to take risks to go fast but with cold tyres Craner Curves in particular can be deadly," said Edwards.
