A Imprensa Anarquista e Sindicalista Revolucionária em Portugal na Primeira Guerra Mundial Internacionalistas Versus Intervencionistas

Abstract

Esta dissertação procura analisar, interpretar e compreender os debates e discussões que se densevolveram na imprensa anarquista e sindicalista revolucionária durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial. Ao longo de seis capítulos abordamos temas como o militarismo, o colonialismo, o capitalismo, o Estado e a relação de todos estes sistemas de relações sociais e instituições com a Grande Guerra, e a luta armada entre Estados de modo geral, do ponto de vista dos anarquistas portugueses do inicio do século XX. O principal foco deste estudo é oferecer uma interpretação informada, através do estudo da imprensa libertária, da divisão que se deu no movimento anarquista portugues entre 1914-1918, ao longo da Primeira Guerra Mundial, entre internacionalistas opositores de todas as guerras entre povos, e intervencionstas defensores da particiapação anarquista e sindicalista ao lado da Triplice Entente.

This dissertation seeks to analyze, interpret and comprehend the debates and discussions that developed in the anarchist and revolutionary syndicalist press during the First World War. Throughout six chapters we address topics such as militarism, colonialism, capitalism, the State and the relationship of all these systems os social relations and institutions with the Great War, and the armed struggle between States in general, from the point of view of the Portuguese anarchists at the beginning of the twentieth century. The main focus of this study is to offer an informed interpretation, through the study of the libertarian press, of the division that occurred in the Portuguese anarchist movement between 1914-1918, throughout the First World War, between internationalists who opposed all wars between peoples, and interventionists defenders of of anarchist and syndicalist participation alongside the Triplice Entente.
