Abstract

This project thesis addresses the problem that the museography of an ecological heritage supposes for architecture. The problem arises from the case of Alto Patache, a fog oasis in the coastal desert of Atacama where researchers from the most diverse disciplines study their great ecological, biological and archaeological value. However, the findings and particularities that make Alto Patache special are hardly observable and understandable for who is not scientific. Who visits the place does nothing more than a sterile dirt mantle and the routine appearance of the mist. However, the climatic crisis we face makes it necessary to communicate widely the valuable knowledge that this fog oasis represents as an ecosystem resilient to the extreme aridity. For this, it is explored through the architecture project, specifically the design of an ecomuseum, various strategies that museize the different objects, amplifying their characteristics to communicate the multidimensional heritage to a lego subject.
