Escalas simples, cuerpos complejos ¿Cómo las medidas de una casa impactan los roles de género?

Abstract

Una casa no solo contiene espacios, objetos y personas, sino también jerarquías, roles y tensiones influenciadas por el contexto que permea dentro de sus límites y que se refleja en las relaciones humanas dentro de ella. Puede ser una habitación, un apartamento, un anti-refugio o un dominio. Esta investigación hace un análisis cuantitativo de la representación de roles de género en manuales de antropometría y ergonomía usados en diseño y arquitectura. En los manuales de Neufert, Fonseca y Panero & Zenik, se observa que más del 90% de los espacios de servicio en viviendas son representados por escalas gráficas que representan mujeres, mientras que los de recreación y descanso por hombres. Se cuestiona cómo estas representaciones refuerzan estructuras de dominación y se plantea la necesidad de alternativas más inclusivas en el diseño.

This study critically examines how these representations reinforce structures of domination and highlights the need for more inclusive design alternatives.
