TEXAS will have a new record out later this year which could mark a change of direction, according to singer Sharleen Spiteri.
Fans who saw the band's NEC show last December will have some idea of the way Texas are heading - they used scratch DJ Mark One throughout the gig.
They've also performed and recorded with rappers Wu Tang Clan.
Sharleen says: "Working with the Wu Tang Clan was the highlight of last year, and that will influence the album.
"But it won't be a massively radical change - we are not going to do a rap record or anything like that.
Sharleen also revealed her band will be touring this year, with dates in the Midlands very likely.
Soulful CONNER REEVES, who was named Best Male Singer, reveals that he is 99 per cent certain he'll be playing live in Birmingham next month.
Several venues are being considered with the name 'Ronnie Scott's' coming up in the conversation.
Conner expects to spend less and less time in Britain - he's massive in South East Asia where Earthbound has gone top five, and he's soon to meet American record company execs to get his career off the ground in the States.
Alan from OTT told us about the delay in releasing their debut album This One's For You.
"It was originally scheduled for the shops in October but we decided to add more tracks," he says.
The record now has a massive 14 songs on it and has just been released in Ireland and Asia. It's due in Britain later this year to coincide with a UK tour which Alan assures us will include Brum.
The lads just can't stay away from the recording studio. Alan reveals: "We'll be working on new material next week and if we feel the tracks are good enough we'll one of them as our next single."
Lee Brennan from 911 was quite open about his alleged break-up with Baby Spice Emma.
"We were never really together - we were just friends," he freely admits.
He was far more excited about the premier live performance of forthcoming single All I Want Is You.
"This awards event is the first time we've played this song to an audience," he says.
