Burocracia estatal, Ejército Argentino, oficiales, educación Abstract The article analyzes the recruitment and education process of a traditional bureaucracy of the Argentine national state: the Army officers. Focusing on the officers of a Promotion of the Military College of the Nation who studied at that institute between 1979 and 1982, it characterizes the social profiles of the cadets and their families of origin, determines the reasons why they chose to be in the military, and includes their training as officers in those years.
