Xingamentos e relações racializadas de gênero: sintoma cultural da sociedade brasileira

Abstract

Pesquisas anteriores identificaram que os xingamentos são práticas carregadas de valores sexistas e homofóbicos. Este estudo visou elencar neles o marcador social raça, com intersecção de gênero, objetivando compreender como o racismo se expressa nesse fenômeno da linguagem, tendo como referência o paradigma da interseccionalidade. Levantamos, através de questionário online, os xingamentos considerados como piores contra mulheres e homens; mulheres e homens negros. Foram analisados 1.782 questionários. Após análise de conteúdo, semântica e pragmática, separamos os xingamentos em categorias e comparamos suas incidências relativas aos diferentes grupos. Identificamos a presença evidente de valores racistas quando se racializa o alvo. Contudo, gênero foi um fator de diferenciação: contra mulheres negras, as ofensas visavam à estética e contra homens negros, havia associação com a criminalidade. Os dados sugerem a existência de um racismo gendrado no país.

Previous research has identified that slurs are practices loaded with sexist and homophobic values. This study aimed to identify the social marker race, with a gender intersection, in order to understand how racism is expressed in this language phenomenon, using the intersectionality paradigm as a reference. We surveyed, through an online questionnaire, the swear words considered the worst ones against women and men; black women and men. A total of 1,782 questionnaires were analyzed. After analyzing the content, semantics and pragmatics, we separated the slurs into categories and compared their incidence in relation to the different groups. We identified the obvious presence of racist values when the target is racialized. However, gender was a differentiating factor: against black women, the insults were aimed at aesthetics and against black men, there was an association with criminality. The data suggests the existence of gendered racism in Brazil.
