Abstract

Advanced imaging systems require complex hardware, optical setups, and software to collect and process data. In applications such as autonomous vehicles and aerial imaging, a large amount of data is collected and must be processed accurately and quickly. As a result, different methods exist for data acquisition and processing, each with its own strengths and limitations. This thesis explores several imaging and data processing techniques associated with time-of-flight imaging using single photon avalanche detectors. The advantages of signal processing techniques such as cross-correlation are investigated. Additionally, methods for generating videos from sequential imaging data are analyzed and optimized, including strategies for aligning data capture frames and video frames to enhance video quality.
