Abstract

Graduating on time is a major concern for many Master’s students, yet delays are all too common. While we recognize this issue, understanding why so many programs stretch beyond the intended two-year timeline remains a challenge. A mix of factors likely contribute - financial strain, difficulties in navigating prerequisite courses, and limited course availability all play a role. But the impact goes beyond just academics. These delays can take an emotional and financial toll, affecting career plans and adding significant stress.

To address this, we’re developing an interactive visualization tool, using machine learning model, that sheds light on the key factors influencing graduation timelines. This isn’t just about displaying data - it’s about providing students with meaningful insights to help them stay on track. By visually mapping out the challenges that commonly lead to delays, we aim to make the graduation process more transparent. More importantly, our tool will offer personalized recommendations, giving students concrete strategies to overcome obstacles and complete their programs on time. Our goal is to create a more supportive academic environment - one that helps students move forward with clarity, confidence, and a smoother transition into their careers.
